    ***A C Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab*** Box With Original Inserts & T-Clips
    I hate using the term "rare" in auctions, but this item qualifies.  This auction is for the original box, inserts and a few original T-clips.
    The center insert needs some repair.  There is a loose flap that needs to be reconnected.  Additionally, this insert is "bowed".  I chose not to repair either issue and leave it up to the new owner.  Having fixed these types of inserts in the past I don't believe either is difficult.
    I believe one "riser" insert is missing in the side boxes; otherwise, all the other display cardboard seems to be present.
    I listed this item last week and I was unable to show pictures in the last eBay auction of new issue I had discovered.  I noticed when I went to ship, a split that runs across the entire front of the box on the edge.  It is pictured in the second slide.  It is repairable with glue or quality box tape on the inside which the inserts would cover.  I will leave it up to the new owner to repair.
    The T-Clips included arrived with the set when I purchased it.  I believe them to be original to this set but obviously can not be 100% sure.
    This set, once complete, is one of the holy grails of A C Gilbert collectors.   You can't build a set without the box!
    I have done my best to point out the flaws and picture them as well.  I encourage you to ask questions and view pictures closely.
    The Atomic Energy Lab Set was only around for about a year from 1951 to 1952.  The set and parts are very difficult to find as there were not a ton produced.  A C Gilbert lost money on each set he sold.
    I've decided to part out a partial set that I own in hopes that it will complete other partial sets.  I will be listing other miscellaneous items from the set today and tomorrow.

    ****ATTENTION - IMPORTANT**** When getting ready to prepare the box for shipping I noticed the front bottom edge of the box has split straight across.  This is easily repaired with glue or with box tape on the inside of the box.  If box tape is used inside, the inserts will "hide" the repair.  While it is noteworthy I do not believe it impacts the value of the box.
