Description
A cocktail shaker find on the rarer side, need it for a collector? From Landers, Frary & Clark, New Britain Connecticut’s iconic manufacturing company. This one is believed to be closer to mid-century rather than early 20th, it’s not silverplate, rather a chrome plated with the cork-lined spout cap from the silverplated version.The spout screw-cap is a design element that dates back decades, paired with a kinda unusual element: the top cap is also a cork lined screw-cap closure.
This one again hints at sleek mid-century style lines to come with its silhouette and handle. The company made chrome, pewter and silverplate wares. The 1934 ad in the second to last slide has a
LF&C
silverplate model listed at .12, or about 5 in today’s $$. For "home Jollification!"
LF&C was formed in 1862 with the merger of the two companies in its name. Many of the company's items were marketed under the brand ‘Universal’ as is the case here. Going from making small metal hardware items to manufacturing tooo many products to list. If you are the history buff type, came across an article about the company during WW1, if interested google: Landers Frary Clark CCSU.edu
Connecticut has long been known for its manufacturing. The Land of Steady Habits was home to nearly a dozen nationally recognized companies making appliances and household goods such as Manning-Bowman [Meriden], Landers, Frary & Clark [New Britain], The Fitzgerald Company [Torrington]
Condition: some small dents and dings. There are a few small areas of chrome-plate loss, examples shown in the pic, but no major spots of loss.

I find interesting, because I can’t keep it all, heh. Usually that’s ceramics, art, barware, and other collectibles.
Shipping: For “Reasonable Shipping” cost, I never ‘make money’ on shipping = the rates are the actual carrier rates. I always compare dimensional size/weight, and flat-rate, and regional boxes to get you the best ship price!
I’m happy to ‘group’ items for a bundle buy, just message me and tell what things you’re looking at. I always combine shipments when possible to get you the best rate (keep in mind, when it’s practical - things like a poster & ceramic jar aren’t gonna work together
😊
)
Cheers, thanks for looking.
