    Description

This one offers a unique opportunity to have a working, factory built A.C. Gilbert Erector Ferris Wheel dealer display, complete with the original box.  Piece is motorized and illuminated.  The piece is wired and equipped for illumination (which also works) - any typical toy/train transformer will do that you would normally use for layout trains and accessories.  It is pretty neat to watch this one go around with the lights on it!
This piece is very large and is available for local pickup (Dallas/Fort Worth TX area), or I will be happy to release to the carrier of your choice if you want to contract with a 3rd party for shipping (who will need to pick it up from 76034 zip code and take responsibility for any incurred damage during transit).  Please note that if you go this route, I would suggest you have the shipper crate the piece.  I have stored the box flat since I've had it.  The Ferris Wheel measures approximately 24" wide x 24" deep x 28" high at the highest point.  The box measures approximately 24 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep x 28" high when assembled.  There is some water staining visible inside the box, which fortunately didn't warp or damage it.
This display is a bit heavy, and is mounted on a plywood base which is red painted on the top.  The top edges of the base are trimmed with 3" Erector panels all the way around the base.
The box has '49' printed on it under the box manufacturer's stamp, so let's call this one circa 1950 in terms of manufacture.  Additionally, the box identifies (in original stamping) 'ERECTOR FERRIS WHEEL MODEL'.  This is hands down the largest A.C. Gilbert (maker of American Flyer trains) original box that I've ever seen.  It is amazing that the display still exists in the nice condition it is in, let alone the box, after 70+ years.
