Description
Car has been in inside storage for many years soon after previous owner purchased it in 2001. It was being professionally restored and something happened that it didn't get completed. I then purchased the car a little over 4 years ago to restore myself but my age and health has prevented that. I pulled the spark plugs and put Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders and let it sit for quite a long timebefore I attempted to start it.
I also put a half a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in the engine and started the car.
I let it run for at least half a hour with no knocks and I did not notice any smoke.
The engine ran quite well.
The exhaust system seems to be good as it was not loud.
The engine is a 318 two bbl carb automatic transmission with very quiet dual exhaust. I have not checked the quality of the automatic transmission because I feel it needs to have the fluids drained and filter replaced before any attempt to be used. New electronic ignition parts, 2 new front tires. The body needs little, if any, body work and is about ready for paint. The rear quarter panels are great and I do not know if they were replaced or not but there is no rust or damage on them. What cannot be seen in these pictures that is missing is:
windshield, under dash ac / heating ducts, wiper linkage, and back seat.
It looks like the body was sanded to bare metal (except for the 2 front fenders) and it is a very straight body.
It does need an upper hinge pin on drivers door as it sags a bit.
There are a few parts in the trunk that I do not know where they go.
It does not need trunk pans or body floor pans.
The only through rust holes that I have seen are a few small holes in the drivers floorboard (see picture).
What you see in the pictures is what you get.
You would be hard pressed to find a body in this good of shape as the car came from dry central Texas. I have the clear Texas title in hand. Buyer pays a non-refundable 0 deposit to Ebay within 48 hrs and cash balance to seller within 10 days.
No first time bidders and no under 5 bidders please. Most buyers are concerned with the electrical of older cars. I have over 50 years experience in automotive electrical. So if you buy the car and there are any electrical problems, I can guide you over the phone or internet or email on any electrical problems or questions for one year from date of purchase free of charge.
